ABOUT Khoya Barfi RECIPE

This is a very delicious and quick fudgy Indian sweet made during festive seasons.The name originates from the persian word "barf" meaning snow!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250g fresh mawa
  2. 1-2 tablespoons ghee
  3. 1/2 cup water
  4. 4-5 green cardamom seeds crushed
  5. handful of pistachios and almonds sliced
  6. 150g sugar(add more or less depending on your taste)
  7. Nuts/4-5 sheets silver warq to garnish(only if you wish to add)

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add mawa into it.Stir the mawa continously until it changes a little in colour but should still be white.Turn off flame.
  2. Now heat a heavy pan and add sugar and water into it.Keep stirring to make a thick syrup of one thread consistency.
  3. When the syrup cools down- mix mawa, almonds, cardamom seeds, pistachios with the syrup.Pour the mixture into a greased tray and spread it evenly.
  4. Garnish the set barfi with nuts or warq.Refrigerate it for one day ,cut it into pieces with a sharp knife and serve.
