ABOUT Mushroom Masala RECIPE

Easy mushrooms gravy recipe yields a smooth gravy like the restaurant style dish. Mushrooms are used to prepare a variety of dishes. Mushroom Masala recipe is very simple to make and has a curry base like the paneer masala.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Mushroom chopped 500 gm
  2. Garlic chopped 8
  3. Grated ginger 1
  4. Green chilli finely chopped 2
  5. Tomato coarsely chopped 4
  6. Cashew nuts 10 broken into pieces
  7. Kashmir chilli pwd 1 tsp
  8. Garam masala pwdr 1 tsp
  9. Turmeric pwd 1/4 tsp
  10. Butter 3 tbsp
  11. Oil 2 tbsp
  12. Honey 1 tbsp
  13. Kasuri methi 1 tsp
  14. Fresh full cream or milk 150 ml
  15. Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  16. Salt to taste


  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add tomato, cashew nuts and cook for 3 min till the tomato and nuts become soft
  3. Grind the tomato and cashew nuts to a fine paste
  4. Heat butter, oil in a wok add onion, garlic, ginger, chilli and saute till the onion becomes translucent
  5. Add a salt so the onion gets cooked faster
  6. Add mushrooms and saute and cook till the mushrooms change colour
  7. Add ground tomato paste, red chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder to the cooked mushrooms and bring to a nice boil.
  8. Add honey and mix adjust the salt and add little water if the gravy becomes too thick
  9. Add cream or milk and cook for 2 min and bring to a nice boil to get the desired consistency
  10. Add Kasuri methi and mix and cook for 2 min
  11. Switch off the flame transfer the mushrooms masala to a serving bowl.
