To make this recipe i was inspired from south indian dish idiyappam. I thought that why we could not add vegetables while making dough .we can make our kids easily to have vegetable which is inside it. Otherwise they dont like lauki at all. it comes very very delicious. I make it in this way first time. And we can say that we like it very much.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup grated lauki
  2. 1 cup Rice flour
  3. Salt per taste
  4. 1 tbsp oil
  5. Pepper
  6. Mint for garnish
  7. Garlic chutney or sauce for serving


  1. Grate lauki from the smallest side of grater
  2. Heat 1 cup water in pan
  3. Add 1 tbsp oil and salt
  4. Add grated lauki
  5. When water heated and lauki cooked add rice flour and stir it regularly
  6. Add pepper
  7. When it forms like dough leaves pan turn off gas
  8. Take machine and grease it
  9. Put required jali and fill mahine with dough
  10. Take idli moulds and grease them
  11. Now push machine and make noodles in direct moulds
  12. Cook them in steamer for 10-15 min
  13. Sprinkle some coconut powder and garnish with garlic chutney and sauce and mint
  14. Serve with melon cucumber salad and garlic chutney. (Salad is optional)
