Grilled fish with lemon butter sauce is a very popular dish in European countries. This wonderful recipe will make your mouth water when you have a bite of this lemon butter spiced fillets. This is also very healthy as it requires less oil. Grilled Fish, one of the popular dishes in India, mostly served with different varieties of sauces. The fish is initially marinated in a lot of spices so that the flavors can penetrate in the inside which gives it a very flavorful taste. The Lemon Butter sauce is a very smooth sauce with a slight tangy taste, which makes the taste of the grilled fish more delightful. Grilled Fish and Lemon Butter Sauce make a great combination and can be served as a part of the main course. Grilled fish is popular in mostly the eastern states of India like West Bengal, Orrisa, Jharkhand etc. Grilled Fish with Lemon ButterSauce taste good itself also, but if required can be had with roti or rice.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Fish fillets -6 (any white fish fillets. 6-10inches each )
  2. Butter-2 tablespoons ( melted )
  3. Lemon juice -2 tablespoons
  4. Garlic cloves - 2 (minced )
  5. Chopped parsley -1 tablespoon
  6. Salt and ground black pepper -as per taste
  7. Red chilli flakes - 1 teaspoon
  8. Vegetable oil - 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Ingredients to make the Lemon butter sauce:
  10. Butter- 1/2cup
  11. Lemon juice -4 tablespoons
  12. Garlic pods-4 minced
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Black Pepper to taste
  15. Fresh Parsley -1 teaspoon (chopped )
  16. Coriander leaves or cilantro -2 teaspoon (chopped)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the garlic, butter, parsley, salt, pepper, lemon juice and red chilli flakes together. Mix this well.
  2. Place the fish fillets in this mixture. Rub the fish fillets with the spices properly. Cover or seal and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  3. After 1 hour, remove these fish fillets from the fridge.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F ( 230 degrees Celsius ), remember to keep the oven on grill mode.
  5. Take a grilling rack lined with aluminium foil.
  6. Place the fish on it. Brush little vegetable oil over the fish. Place the rack on the top section of the preheated oven.
  7. Grill 10 minutes per side or until fish is easily flaked with a fork.
  8. Transfer to a serving plate.
  9. Method of making lemon butter sauce.
  10. Melt the butter in a medium sized saucepan over medium heat. Add chopped garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper and parsley. Bring it to boil. Cook and stir about 10 minutes, until thickened.
  11. Pour the sauce over the grilled fish fillets, sprinkle chopped coriander leaves or cilantro and serve with steamed vegetables and french fries.
  12. Serve it instantly.
