ABOUT Kasuri Methi Shankarpali or Namak Pare RECIPE

All time favorite snack can be prepared anytime and tastes awesome with hot tea or coffee. In this recipe I have flavored namak pare or shankarpali using kasuri methi. Also cumin and carom seeds have been used.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Maida or Flour - 3cups
  2. Oil - 2 tablespoon for kneading(warm) + for frying
  3. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tablespoon
  4. Crushed cumim seeds - 1teaspoon
  5. Crushed carom seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Kasuri methi - 1 1/2 tablespoon (blended or crushed)
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Water as required for kneading

Instructions

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
  2. Add oil. Rub well till form a crumbly texture.
  3. Add water slowly at a time and knead a stiff dough.
  4. Cover and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Divide dough into 5-6 equal parts.
  6. Roll into thin roti. Cut rough edges using shankarpali or pizza cutter.
  7. Cut into dimaond shape or any desire shape.
  8. Keep prepared shankarpalis on a plate or butter paper
  9. Heat oil in a kadai or pan. Fry them on medium low flame from both the sides until light brown and crisp.
  10. Cool and store into airtight container.
