Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Hilsa fish 500 grams
  2. Boiled Taro root/Kochu 1 cup - cubed
  3. Onion seeds 1/2 tsp
  4. Dry red chili 1
  5. Bay leaf 1
  6. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  7. Green chili 6-8
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Cumin powder 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Marinade fish pieces with turmeric powder and salt. Keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a nonstick pan and shallow fry fish pieces. Keep it aside.
  3. Now add bay leaf, dry red chili and onion seeds to the same pan.
  4. Add boiled taro roots and saute for 3 minutes
  5. Add salt, turmeric powder, sliced green chilies, cumin powder and saute for 5 mins.
  6. Add 2 cups of water and bring to boil
  7. Add fried fish pieces. Cook for 2 to 3 mins.
  8. Serve warm with rice
