Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Rice 1 1/4 cups
  2. Green Moong Dal 1/2 cup
  3. Yellow moong dal 1/8 cup
  4. Bay leaf 2
  5. Cardamom 4 pods
  6. Clove 4
  7. Black peppercorns 1 tbsp
  8. Green chili chopped 1 tbsp
  9. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  10. Sugar 1 tsp
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Ghee 2 tbsp
  13. Milk 1/2 cup
  14. Water as required

Instructions

  1. Wash rice and dal. Drain excess water
  2. Heat ghee in a pan
  3. Add clove,cardamom,pepper,bay leaf and green chili.
  4. Add rice and dal. Stir for 5 minutes.
  5. Add turmeric,sugar ,salt and adequate water.Mix it well.
  6. Cover and cook for 15 minutes over low flame.
  7. Add milk and mix well. Serve warm
