ABOUT Kali gajar ki kanji RECIPE

This is a very popular authentic north Indian drink that served during winter season, since black carrots grow only during the winters.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Black carrots 250 gram
  2. Mustard seeds 2 teaspoon
  3. White salt 2 teaspoon
  4. Black salt 1 teaspoon
  5. Asafoetida 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Red pepper powder 2 teaspoon
  7. Dry roasted cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  8. 5 litres water in a jar

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the carrots.
  2. Boil the carrots for 5 minutes on a slow flame.
  3. Grind the mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  4. Mix all these spices in the carrot water.
  5. Mix it well.
  6. Keep the jar covered with a lid for 3-4 days.
  7. Now it has got fermented and ready to serve.
