ABOUT Khasta Kachori RECIPE

It's a very delicious traditional breakfast recipe which could be enjoyed as it is or could be served with any dip or as chaat etc. Enjoying these fresh khasta with green chillies give a twist to the taste buds. A very traditional recipe which could be enjoyed as a breakfast or could be served for festive occasions also.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. All purpose flour, 1 bowl
  2. Baking soda, 1/4tsp
  3. Carton seeds, 1/4tsp
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Water as required
  6. Oil as required
  7. For filling-
  8. Urad dal, 1/2bowl
  9. Besan,1/2bowl
  10. Turmeric powder, 1/4tsp
  11. Garam masala, 1/4tsp
  12. Ginger, 1/2inch piece grated
  13. Fennel seeds, 1/4tsp
  14. Coriander powder, 1/4tsp
  15. Cumin seeds, 1/2tsp
  16. Dry mango powder, 1/2tsp
  17. Heeng, pinch
  18. Salt to taste
  19. Red chilli powder, 1/2tsp
  20. Chaat masala, 1/4tsp


  1. Wash and clean urad dal and soak in water for 30minutes.
  2. Drain and wash the dal again.
  3. Take a pan and add salt, turmeric powder and water and boil it until soft.
  4. Strain to remove any excess water.
  5. Take a pan and add heeng, fennel seeds and cumin seeds and saute and then add all the masalas and cook.
  6. Add the dal and mix in well.
  7. Now add besan and cook well until besan turns brownish.
  8. Allow the mixture to cool completely.
  9. Now prepare the dough with the dough ingredients.
  10. Now take a deep frying vessel and put oil and let it heat.
  11. Take out balls from the dough and flatten them and stuff with the dal stuffing and give them Kachori shape.
  12. Now deep fry the pieces on slow flame until crispy and brownish.
  13. It's done enjoy.
