ABOUT Othu Shavige RECIPE

Ottu shavige is amazing and traditional food of dakshina kannada/South India .Everyone loves othu shavige isn't it?.It is very tasty and healthy.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Dosa rice.....3 cup
  2. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak rice in water overnight or 4-5 hours.
  2. Grind the rice into the smooth paste by adding required amount of water and salt.
  3. Take thick bottomed pan and add the batter
  4. Heat the pan & keep stirring continuously with a strong big spoon,till it becomes thick dough,so that you can make rice balls.
  5. When the dough is still hot, with some cold water applied onhands make rice balls and steam them for 20-25minutes in an idly cooker.
  6. Rice balls is ready.
  7. place these cooked balls in the shavige maker .
  8. Press and hold the shavige entry in the plate.
  9. Serve with any sambar, chutney ,rasayana,or sweet coconut milk.
