Vegetable rice chilla

Ingredients to make Vegetable rice chilla

  • for a rice chilla better
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 2 tablespoon wheat flour
  • salt to test
  • 1/2 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 3/4 cup water to make batter
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • For the filling
  • 1 cup cauliflower thinly sliced
  • 2 chopped potatoes
  • 1/2 tablespoon carrots shredded
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • finely chopped 1 tab
  • 1/2 tablespoon red chili pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • salt to test

How to make Vegetable rice chilla

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together add rice flour , wheat flour, cumin seeds,salt add the water slowly to make smooth better consistency of Dosa batter. Set aside.
  2. To make the filling: Heat the oil in frying pan over medium high heat. Oil should be moderately hot, add cumin seeds add the cauliflower and chopped potatoes cook on medium flame for 10 minuets
  3. add chopped tomato, green chili, red chilli,coriander powder, salt and lemon juice,carrots and mix well
  4. stir fry for about 8 minuets. vegetables should be still crisp. Turn off the heat.
  5. To make the Cheele: Use a heavy skillet and place on medium-high heat.
  6. Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter into the skillet and spread evenly with a back of spoon. Starting from the center, spiral the batter outward evenly to form a circle.
  7. When batter starts to dry, gently spread one teaspoon of oil over it. Wait about 30 seconds; flip the cheela using a flat spatula.
  8. Turn the cheela and in the center of the cheele put about 4 tablespoon cooked veggies and roll it.
  9. veggies rice chilla is ready serve with tomato chili sauce. enjoy with tea
