This is a very healthy one pot meal, for a health conscious people which is absolutely lip smacking too.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Daliya, 1 cup
  2. 1, cup moogal dal,
  3. 1 tsp turmeric powder,
  4. 1tsp red chilli powder ,
  5. 1 tsp rai, (mustard seeds]
  6. 1 carrot
  7. Salt to taste


  1. Heat a pressure cooker with 1 tbsp of butter. Once heated, then add the mustard seeds, jeera [cumin seeds] followed by the carrot.
  2. Add Daliya, saute it for 10 mins, then add the moong dal and saute further. Add red chilly powder Turmeric powder salt..
  3. Now add 2 glasses of water, close the lid and cook until 4 whistles are attained. Release the pressure and cook on a low flame for 3-4 minutes further. serve hot.
