Bottle gourd is rich in fibre and vitamins. Children may not like it as vegetable. In this way it can be fed without their knowledge. This recipe also helps for weight loss

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chopped bottle gourd 200 gms
  2. Idli rice 1/2 cup
  3. Toor dal 1/2 cup
  4. Channa dal 1/2 cup
  5. Moong dal 1/4 cup
  6. Red chillies 5
  7. Saunf/ fennel seeds 1/2 tsp
  8. Asafoetida a pinch
  9. Salt accordingly
  10. Curry leaves a fistful
  11. Coriander leaves a fistful
  12. Sesame oil 50 ml

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice ,dals chillies and saunf together for 2 hrs after washing 2-3 times
  2. In a blender add the chopped bottle gourd/lauki, soaked rice and dal mixture ,salt and grind to a coarse paste by adding the soaked water little by little
  3. Now add the curry leaves and coriander leaves and whip once or twice
  4. Collect the batter in a container and add asafoetida and add adequate water for dosa consistency.
  5. Now make dosas of desired thickness.
  6. Drizzle sesame oil in the edges .
  7. Cook on both sides and serve with butter,jaggery or any spicy chutney of your choice
  8. Nobody can find out bottle gourd is added.
