Radish Broken Wheat Pulao

Ingredients to make Radish Broken Wheat Pulao

  • Broken Whole wheat 1 cup
  • radish 3
  • carrot 1
  • Green chilli 1
  • White pepper Powder 1/2 tea spoon
  • Grated Ginger 1/2 tea spoon
  • Green peas 3 table spoons
  • Clove and cinnamo coarsely crushed 1/2 tea spoon
  • salt to taste
  • Groundnut oil 3 table spoons
  • mustard seeds, urad dal,cumin seeds and curry leaves for seasoning

How to make Radish Broken Wheat Pulao

  1. Pressure cook the broken wheat with 2 cups of water and keep aside.
  2. Wash and peel the radish and carrot. Grate them and keep aside.
  3. Heat a pan with oil. Do the seasoning with mustard, urad dal, cumin seeds curry leaves, cloves and cinnamon.
  4. Once they splutter add the green peas, grated ginger, green chilli, white pepper powder and stir for 30 seconds.
  5. Add the grated radish, carrot and required salt. Give fast stirs in high flame to get the moisture present in radish dried quickly. (3 to 5 minutes)
  6. Transfer the boiled broken wheat to the pan and mix gently.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves

My Tip:

I used cold pressed groundnut oil to make it more healthy, aromatic. For kids butter could also be used.
