Dosa and batata bhaji

Ingredients to make Dosa and batata bhaji

  • Dosa rice one and half cup
  • urad dal three fourth cup
  • onion 2
  • potatoes 4 medium
  • green chillies 3
  • urad dal 1 tsp
  • mustard seeds half tsp
  • curry leaves bunch
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • hing a small blob

How to make Dosa and batata bhaji

  1. For dosa:
  2. Soak rice and urad dal for three hours
  3. Grind in mixer with just sufficient water and salt
  4. Allow the batter to ferment overnight
  5. Adjust to pouring consistency and make dosa on dosa tava
  6. For bhaji
  7. Pressure cook diced potatoes
  8. In a pan take oil
  9. Add urad dal and saute on medium flame till slightly brown.
  10. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves
  11. Add slit green chillies
  12. Add sliced onions and saute till slightly brown
  13. Add cooked potatoes
  14. Add turmeric powder and hing and salt
  15. Adjust consistency of bhaji with required amount of water
