Ingredients to make Dal pakwan

  • For dal:
  • Boiled chana dal 4 cup
  • For dal tempering:
  • ghee 2 tablespoon
  • cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Asfetoida 1/4 teaspoon
  • red chilli Powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala Powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • For Palawan:
  • wheat flour 1 cup
  • ghee 2 tablespoon
  • salt 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder 1/4 teaspoon
  • Carrom seeds
  • water for kneading
  • oil for frying
  • onion rings for garnishing
  • Green chutney for serving

How to make Dal pakwan

  1. Add ghee to a pan add all ingredients for dal tempering and add boiled dal and mix well.
  2. For pakwan add flour, and all ingredients except oil for frying.
  3. Make a tight dough with little water. Set aside covered for 5 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and make thin chapati from dough. Cut in triangles with the help of pizza cutter. And pork with the fork.
  5. Put one by one into medium hot oil.
  6. Fry til golden brown and crispy
  7. Your pakwan is ready. Serve dal in serving bowl and garnish with onion rings, green chutney and pakwan. Your dal pakwan is ready to serve.

My Tip:

You can also add dates tamrind chutney.
