Kadhi panchrangi

Ingredients to make Kadhi panchrangi

  • gram flour /besan 1 cup
  • curd 4 cups
  • French beans 1/2cup chopped
  • carrots 1/4 cup sliced
  • shallots 1/4 cup chopped
  • Medium sized tomatoes 2 chopped
  • Green garlic 1-2 chopped
  • bay leaves 1-2
  • curry leaves 2-4sprigs
  • Red chillies 1-2
  • mustard seeds 1tsp
  • asafoetida powder 1tsp
  • turmeric powder 2 tsps
  • Black peppercorns 7-8
  • cloves 4-5
  • Black cardamoms 2-4
  • fenugreek seeds 2 tsps
  • red chilly powder 2tsps
  • Garam masala powder 2tsps
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Kadhi panchrangi

  1. First of all arrange your ingredients
  2. Heat oil in deep pan,add garlic , asafoetida,red chillies,beans to it.
  3. Add bay leaves and fenugreek seeds and cook covered for 5 minutes .
  4. Till your beans get done make batter with curd,besan,red chilly powder, turmeric powder,garam masala and salt. Mix them together with the help of blender.
  5. Now add carrots, tomatoes,curry leaves,cloves, cardamoms,black pepper corns to your semi cooked beans and cook for more 5 minutes.
  6. Add curd batter to the veggies and keep stiring till it gets its first boil.
  7. Now let it boil on simmer heat for 15 minutes but don't forget to stir timely.
  8. Your kadhi is done ,serve hot with rice or chapaties.

My Tip:

Dont forget to stir continuously till its first boil else you will get the curdling texture of kadhi.
