About Stuffed Pomfret Curry Recipe

This is my own recipe. Word Pomfret comes from Portuguese pampo. I stuffed promfret with green chutney, and shallow fried on skillet. And added this stuffed promfret in regular coconut curry. I added green garlic. Let us see how to prepare this tasty curry.

Stuffed Pomfret Curry

Ingredients to make Stuffed Pomfret Curry

  • Pomfret 6 small size
  • turmeric powder 1 Tablespoon
  • salt
  • onion 1
  • kokum 8 petals
  • garlic 4 cloves
  • green garlic 4 cloves
  • fresh coconut 1/2 coconut
  • dried red chillies 6
  • dried coriander 1 tablespoon
  • coriander
  • tirphal 4
  • rice flour 2 tablespoon (to coat)
  • oil 5 tablespoon

How to make Stuffed Pomfret Curry

  1. First clean promfret thoroughly.
  2. Marinate with turmeric, ginger garlic paste, salt, kokum and keep aside.
  3. Add in green chillies, fresh grated coconut, green garlic, Coriander and salt in mixer jar, grind to paste.
  4. Slit the promfret and stuffed this green mixture.
  5. Shallow fry this stuffed promfret on skillet.
  6. Flip the promfret.,
  7. Soak dry coriander and dried red chillies.
  8. Now add in soaked coriander, red chillies, sliced onion, grated coconut into mixer jar, and grind to paste.
  9. Add oil in a vessel.
  10. Now add in asafoetida, mustard seeds, garlic and turmeric powder.
  11. Add in chopped onion
  12. Saute it.
  13. Now add in red chillies mixture.
  14. Add in water, kokum, salt, tirphal.
  15. Once curry start boiling add fried promfret.
  16. Your delicious stuffed promfret curry is ready.
  17. Serve hot with rice, chapati, bhakari or roti, puri.

My Tip:

You can use any fish for this curry.
