About Injimurappa (Ginger Candy) Recipe

A healthy snack which will be a medicine to cure cough and throat pain too.

Injimurappa (Ginger Candy)

Ingredients to make Injimurappa (Ginger Candy)

  • ginger - 150 grams
  • sugar - 200 grams
  • water - 1/4 cup
  • Elachi powder - a pinch
  • all purpose flour - 2 tablespoon
  • ghee - 1 teaspoon

How to make Injimurappa (Ginger Candy)

  1. Peel off the skin from the ginger. Wash them and grate them into a bowl.
  2. Boil water in a kadai then add sugar. Mix well and boil until reaches one string consistence.
  3. Add grated ginger and elachi powder and mix well without any lumps.
  4. Once it started foaming at the top add ghee and switch off the flame.
  5. Sprinkle the flour and give a good stir.
  6. Grease the container with ghee and add the mixture.
  7. Cool down for some minutes and cut into your desired shapes.
  8. Store in a airtight container.

My Tip:

Sugar can be replaced with jaggery too.
