About Chicken do payaza Recipe

This is a recipe of a delicious chicken curry with the onions used twice, hence the name do pyaza, to be served with rice or roti.

Ingredients to make Chicken do payaza

  • Chiekn - 200 gm
  • chopped onion - 1/2 cup
  • fried sliced onion - 1/2 cup
  • salt
  • curd - 1/4 th cup
  • ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  • garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • refined oil

How to make Chicken do payaza

  1. Marinate the chicken with salt, and keep aside for 5 minutes. Then heat a pan with some oil, fry the chicken pieces and keep aside.
  2. Then in the same pan, add the chopped onion , saute until golden brown. Then add the ginger garlic paste and fry for sometime.
  3. While that is cooking, mix all the powdered spices into the curd, whisk well and then add this mixture into the cooking onions.
  4. Then add the fried chicken pieces, lower the flame and cook until the chicken is tender. Then add the fried onion on top and mix well. serve hot.
