About SHAHI CHICKEN Recipe

A delicious chicken curry to be served with rice or roti on the side.

SHAHI CHICKEN

Ingredients to make SHAHI CHICKEN

  • chicken - 500 gms
  • onion paste - 4 onion
  • Green cardamom - 4
  • bay leaf - 1 - 2
  • ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • Khus khus paste / poppy seeds paste - 2 tbsp
  • red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder - 1 tsp G
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • cream - 2 tbsp
  • clarified butter - 1/2 cup
  • Whole black pepper - 2 - 3
  • cloves - 2 - 3
  • cinnamon - 1 inch stick
  • mace - 1 piece
  • Black cardamom - 1
  • salt - to taste

How to make SHAHI CHICKEN

  1. Heat one tbsp clarified butter in a pan
  2. Add chicken pieces and saute for 10 mins.and strain it,
  3. Again heat clarified butter in a pan.
  4. Add bay leaf,green cardamom,black cardamom,mace,cloves,whole black pepper and cinnamon to crackle.
  5. Add onion paste and fry till brown.
  6. Add ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder,red chilly powder,coriander powder,garam masala powder and khus khus paste and saute for 4 - 5 mins.
  7. Add chicken pieces and mix well.
  8. Add one cup of water and cook cover till 15 - 20 mins
  9. Add cream and mix well.
  10. Serve hot with rice
