About Paruppu Chutney Recipe

A typical kongunadu dish. Kongunadu is the northern Tamil Nadu. This dish suits well for rice particularly with rasam.

Paruppu Chutney

Ingredients to make Paruppu Chutney

  • Tur dal - 100 gms
  • Red Chillies - 2
  • green chillies - 1
  • Grated coconut - 1 tbsp
  • garlic - 2 or 3 cloves

How to make Paruppu Chutney

  1. Dry roast paruppu/dal on a medium flame till golden brown. Keep aside.
  2. Roast the chillies followed by garlic and coconut.
  3. Allow all the ingredients to cool and grind it in a blender to a thick consistency.
  4. Enjoy the chutney with rice.

My Tip:

Spice quantity can be added according to your taste. If you want to refrigerate, add a little bit of tamarind.
