Andhra Tomato Pappu

Ingredients to make Andhra Tomato Pappu

  • Toor dhall 3/4 cup
  • Chopped onion 1 No.
  • Chopped tomato 2 Nos.
  • green chilly 6 Nos.
  • cumin Seeds 1 sp
  • coriander Leaf To Garnish
  • curry leaf 1 Twig
  • garlic 4 Nos.
  • mustard 1 sp
  • ghee 1 sp
  • oil To temper

How to make Andhra Tomato Pappu

  1. Pressure cook toor dhall and let it sit for a while.
  2. Heat a spoon of oil in a pan.
  3. Add mustard, once splutters, add mashed garlic, hing, cumin seeds, green chilly and saute.
  4. Add chopped onion, saute it until its becomes translucent.
  5. Add fine chopped tomatoes, saute until it becomes mushy.
  6. Pour cooked toor dhall and mix it evenly.
  7. Add water and salt. Let it cook for a while.
  8. Once done add fresh curry leaf, coriander’s leaf and dollop of ghee.
  9. Give a quick stir and serve hot with white rice
