About Plastic Chutney- Kancha Peper Chutney Recipe

having a bit of sweet after the meal makes a smile meal sumptous as per Bengali tradition. Here is a funfilled one with Raw papaya which transofrms to pieces like plastic giving it the unique name.

Plastic Chutney- Kancha Peper Chutney

Ingredients to make Plastic Chutney- Kancha Peper Chutney

  • 1 medium sized raw papaya
  • 1 ans 1/2 cups of water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp of lime juice
  • 1 tbsp raisins( optional)
  • 1 red chilli
  • 1.2 tsp phanchphoran

How to make Plastic Chutney- Kancha Peper Chutney

  1. Wash and peel the skin of the Raw papaya slightly thick as it is bitter.
  2. Slice thin into strips or pieces.
  3. into a saucepan add the water and sugar and bring to a boil as a simple syrup
  4. Add the cup papaya pieces and bring to a boil.
  5. Simmer till the papaya is well steamed and apprears glass like
  6. when the liquid is nearly evaporated, remove and add the lime juice to taste
  7. Dry roast the panchphoran on a pan with the chilli and add just before serving.
  8. Serve warm or chilled.

My Tip:

Raisins and saffron can be added. The recipe tastes amazing without the panchphoran itself.
