A creamy rice pudding.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 2 litre full cream milk
  2. 1/2 cup basmati rice
  3. 1 tin milkmaid
  4. 4 - 5 green cardamoms powdered
  5. 15 almonds chopped
  6. 10 cashewnuts chopped


  1. Take a thick bottomed kadhai, add milk and bring it boil.
  2. While the milk is boiling wash and soak the rice.
  3. Once the milk starts boiling add the rice to it and let it simmer on low heat for an hour and a half till milk and rice start to mix together. By this time the milk would start reducing a little.
  4. Now is the perfect time to add milkmaid. Simmer and let it cook for 30 minutes or so.
  5. After the stipulated time the kheer will become of perfect creamy consistency.
  6. Add chopped almonds and cashew nuts. Sprinkle cardamom powder.
  7. Allow it to cool. Serve chilled.
