Kaju kalash like kaju katli but some varriation in kaju katli

Kaju kalash

Ingredients to make Kaju kalash

  • 1cup(100gm) tukda kaju-chilled
  • 2tbsp milk powder
  • 1/3cup suger
  • 1/4cup water
  • 3tbsp very finely chopped mixed nuts(badam,kaju,pista)for filling
  • Silver varak(Topping)
  • 6Almonds-each cut into 2small pieces
  • Orange colour or kesar mixed with a little water

How to make Kaju kalash

  1. Make cashew katli mix as given.remove from fire and let it cool for 5 minutes.
  2. Divide into 12balls.flatten each ball to a round disc.make a depression in the centre.put 1/2-1tsp mixed nuts in the centre on the depression.cover nuts again and make a kalash by rolling to an ablong shape first.press a little at the neck with fingers to get the kalash shape.press the little finger on the top to get a small depression.
  3. Cut varak into 2 pieces along with the peper.place one kalash on a piece of varak and roll paper on the kalash to cover it from all sides.
  4. Dip a toothpick in orange colour/kesar and put a line of orange on the neck,to look like mouli(red thread)
  5. Stick an almond half on the top depression to resemble a coconut.
