About Achari chicken Recipe

Its a side dish of chicken of different taste. You can take it with rice or roti or paratha or nan as well.

Achari chicken

Ingredients to make Achari chicken

  • chicken 1kg
  • capsicum 150gm diced
  • onion 2 medium size finely chopped
  • ginger paste 2 tspn
  • onion paste 2 tbspn
  • garlic paste 2 tbspn
  • Green chilli paste 2 tspn
  • tomato 2 medium size diced
  • curd 1 cup
  • Kasundi 2 tspn
  • Panchforon (cumin, kalanzi, fenugreek, black mustard, fennel) roasted and grinded 3 tbspn
  • coriander powder 2 tspn
  • mustard oil
  • sugar 2 tspn
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric Powder

How to make Achari chicken

  1. Marinate the chicken with 1/2 cup of curd and keep aside
  2. Heat mustard oil in a kadai. Add chopped onions and diced capsicum. Fry them for 3-4 min.
  3. Add diced tomatoes. Keep frying for 2-3 min more.
  4. Now add ginger, onion, garlic and chilli paste. Saute for 5 min. Add salt, sugar, turmeric powder and red mirch pwder. Keep sauteing.
  5. Add the marinated chicken and saute for 10 min.
  6. Add ground panchforon, coriander, kasundi and rest of the curd.
  7. Add hot water and keep in medium flame until the chiken become tender.
  8. Let the gravy be dried at your desired consistency.

My Tip:

Beside mustard oil you can use aamtel (mustard oil used in mango pickle )
