A yummy healthy dessert with oats, multigrain bread and banana .

Banana, bread and oats halwa

Ingredients to make Banana, bread and oats halwa

  • 5 slices of whole wheat, or multigrain bread .
  • 2 tbsp ghee/ or oil ghee combination .
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • some toasted cashew nuts
  • 1 small ripe banana mashed well .
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
  • Pinch of cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup mava crumbled
  • 1 cup milk , add more to bring a good consistency.

How to make Banana, bread and oats halwa

  1. Take a deep pan, add the ghee /oil combination, toast the cashew nuts and keep aside. In the same ghee pan , add the bread pieces and keep toasting till crisp , remove and keep aside
  2. Now add the milk and add , sugar, powdered cardamom, crumbled mava and mix well, now add the bread pieces, oats , mashed banana and the toasted cashew nuts
  3. keep stirring til mixture thickens, add the sugar too, soon a halva like consistency will be reached, Add some extra ghee if you like to make it more smooth and pliable .
  4. Remove and serve warm or chilled. this is definitely worth trying and can be made in a jiffy in a microwave as well.
