Amritsari Wadi Chaawal

Ingredients to make Amritsari Wadi Chaawal

  • 3onions thinely slices
  • 3tomatoes pureed
  • 2tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 5-6 wadis.
  • 1glass washed and soaked rice
  • 5tsp desi ghee
  • 2grn chillies
  • Salt,haldi and red chilli powder to taste
  • 1+1glass of water.
  • Fresh coriander

How to make Amritsari Wadi Chaawal

  1. In a cooker,add ghee ,jeera 2 whole Wadis + coarsely crush 3 wadis and ginger garlic paste.
  2. Saute till pink. You will get the nice aroma of wadis.. Add onions.again saute till translucent.
  3. Now put tomato puree, salt and spices. When ghee leaves the sides of cooker ,add rice and 1 glass of water.
  4. Cover the lid.1 whistle on high and 15mins on sim. Open the lid..add 1 more glass of water or according to the consistency you prefer.
  5. Bring it to boil. Garnish with fresh coriander. Serve hot. .

My Tip:

You can serve the curd or raita of your choice.
