This is my one of the favourite dishes which i made with ridgegourd, i learnt this from my mother in law.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Groundout 50gms
  2. Onion big 1
  3. Tomato big 1
  4. Garlic crushed 4 cloves
  5. Curry leaves few
  6. Mustard
  7. Jeera
  8. Asoefoetida 1 pinch
  9. Dry red chilli 2 no
  10. Sambar powder 1 tpn
  11. Salt
  12. Ridgegourd medium size 1


  1. Dry roast groundnuts and peel off the skin and grind it coarsely
  2. Cut ridge gourd in normal size square pieces.
  3. Take a pan add refined oil add mustard, jeera and red chilli, allow it to fry and add asoefoetida, now add onion, add crushed garlic fry it add curry leaves and tomatoes for few minutes
  4. Add Sambhar powder, salt and turmeric powder fry now add rich guard and fry it nicely with onion tomatoes and pour two tumblers of water. Allow it to cook after 8 to ten min add coarsely grinded groundnuts and mix nicely give two boils and switch of the flame.
  5. Add curry leaves and serve .
