ABOUT Healthy fruit and nut Granola bars RECIPE

These granola bars are made with healthy oats,nuts,seeds and dry fruits.I have added jaggery instead of sugar and honey as honey becomes toxic on heating.

Ingredients Serving: 9

  1. Oats 2 cups
  2. almonds 1/2 cup
  3. dates 1/2 cup
  4. raisins 1/2 cup
  5. Sesame seeds 2 tbsp
  6. Melon seeds 2 tbsp
  7. jaggery 1 cup
  8. ghee 3 tbsp
  9. Vanilla extract 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. PREPARE ALL INGREDIENTS.
  2. PUT OATS IN A THICK PAN AND ROAST FOR 6 TO 7 MINUTES ON LOW FLAME TILL COLOUR CHANGES SLIGHTLY.
  3. PUT ALMONDS IN ANOTHER PAN AND ROAST THEM TILL THEY CHANGE COLOUR SLIGHTLY.
  4. ROAST SESAME SEEDS AND MELON SEEDS ALSO.
  5. PUT ROASTED OATS IN A BIG MIXING BOWL.ADD THE ROASTED SEEDS AND CHOPPED ALMONDS TO THIS.
  6. ADD RAISINS TOO.
  7. MIX EVERYTHING WELL AND ADD CHOPPED AND DESEEDED DATES ALSO.
  8. TAKE 3 TBSP GHEE IN A PAN.
  9. ADD JAGGERY WHEN GHEE HEATS UP.
  10. KEEP STIRRING AT LOW FLAME TILL JAGGERY MELTS.
  11. AS SOON AS JAGGERY MELTS PUT OFF THE GAS.NO NEED TO BOIL THE JAGGERY.
  12. ADD A TSP OF VANILLA EXTRACT.
  13. ADD THE MIX OF OATS , DRYFRUITS AND NUTS TO THIS JAGGERY MIX.
  14. SLOWLY MIX EVERYTHING WELL SUCH THAT JAGGERY COATS EVERYTHING WELL.
  15. THIS SHOULD BE THE CONSISTENCY.
  16. PUT THIS GRANOLA MIX IN GREASED AND LINED SQUARE TIN.
  17. SPREAD EVENLY .
  18. PRESS PROPERLY WITH A FLAT BASED GLASS OR BOWL.
  19. NOW THIS IS LEVELLED AND READY TO GO IN THE OVEN.
  20. PUT THE MOULD IN A PREHEATED OVEN AT 180 DEGREES FOR 10 MINUTES.
  21. OUR HEALTHY GRANOLA IS BAKED .
  22. AFTER IT COOLS LITTLE ,CUT INTO BARS OR SQUARES.LET IT COOL FOR 3 HOURS AND THEN REMOVE PIECES AND STORE IN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER.
