  1. Parwal - 1/2 kg
  2. potatoes - 2 big
  3. tomato puree - 3 cups
  4. onions - 2
  5. ginger garlic paste - 2 tspn
  6. cumin seeds - 1 tspn
  7. Red chillies - 2
  8. Cloves(laung) -2
  9. cardamom - 1 or 2
  10. dalchini - 1 stick
  11. javitri - 1
  12. Bay leaf - 1
  13. haldi - 1 tspn
  14. Red chilli powder - 1 tspn
  15. pepper powder - 1/2 tspn
  16. Dhaniya powder - 1 tspn
  17. Garam masala - 1 Tspn

Instructions

  1. HEAT OIL, ADD PARWAL
  2. SAUTE THEM BY COVERING FOR 5 MIN
  3. WHEN THEY BECOME SOFT, KEEP IT ASIDE
  4. NOW IN THE SAME KADHAI, SAUTE POTATOES IN LITTLE OIL
  5. WHEN THEY ARE HALF COOKED KEEP IT ASIDE ALONGWITH PARWAL
  6. TAKE CUMIN SEEDS, BAYLEAF, DALCHINI, RED CHILLIES, LAUNG, JAVITRI, CARDAMOM
  7. ADD THESE IN HEATED OIL
  8. ONCE THEY SPLUTTER, ADD ONIONS
  9. SAUTE TILL TRANSLUCENT, ADD GINGER GARLIC PASTE
  10. ADD CHILLI POWDER, HALDI
  11. DHANIYA POWDER, PEPPER POWDER
  12. GARAM MASALA
  13. ADD LITTLE WATER SO THAT MASALA GETS COOKED
  14. ADD TOMATOES/TOMATO PUREE
  15. ADD SALT
  16. SAUTE THEM FOR 10 MIN TILL MASALA LEAVES OIL
  17. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER
  18. MIX PROPERLY AND ALLOW TO BOIL
  19. ONCE IT STARTS BOILING, ADD THE SAUTEED PARWAL AND POTATOES
  20. COOK BY COVERING FOR 20 MIN
  21. ONCE WATER IS REDUCED, MIX WELL AND SWITCH OFF THE FLAME
