Authentic hyderabadi dish made with Chana dal and Mutton combination

Ingredients Serving: 4
500 gms mutton
2 cups Chana dal(soaked for 3-4 hrs)
2-3 medium sized onion
1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp coriander and cumin powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1/2 cup curd
Mint leaves, coriander leaves and crispy fried onions for garnish
Instructions
Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pressure cooker and add soaked Chana dal and Mutton, with 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste, pinch of turmeric, red chilli powder and salt to taste.
Add 1 cup water, mix the content well and close the lid and cook for 4- 5 whistles till Mutton an dal become tender.
Take a separate pan and add oil/ ghee and heat it. Add bay leaf and the sliced onion and saute until it turns brown.
Next, add all the spices mentioned in the ingredients list including turmeric, pinch of salt and red chilli powder. Add chopped tomatoes as well and cook until oil leaves from sides.
Once the masala is cooked well, add the pressure cooked dal and Mutton to the pan, add 1/ 2 cup Curd and mix well.
Add a cup of water to the contents in the pan and let it cook on a low flame for 10-15 mins.
Garnish the cooked dal gosht with the crispy fried onions, chopped mint and coriander leaves. And the dish is ready to be served.
