ABOUT Tandoori Pomfret RECIPE

This is very easy still a delicacy of fish lovers. This cuisine can make you feel about beach,sun and sand. Crispy outside and tender inside will give a special kind of feeling.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 large pomfret
  2. ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  3. 1 teaspoons+ 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  4. 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  5. 2 tablespoons chili powder
  6. ½ cup hung yogurt
  7. Salt to taste
  8. ½ teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
  9. ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
  10. 1 tablespoons roasted gram flour
  11. 1 teaspoon oil (your preferred)
  12. butter for brushing
  13. Chaat masala for sprinkling
  14. For garnishing - chopped coriander leaves
  15. Sliced cucumber
  16. Sliced tomato
  17. sliced onion rings
  18. sliced lemon and lime

Instructions

  1. Clean the Pomfret fish and Pat dry with a kitchen towel. If the fish is whole make some incisions with a knife, so all the spices can get in. Arrange all the ingredients. It needs two marination in 15 minutes apart.
  2. First Marination :
  3. Mix salt,Turmeric powder, Red chili powder, Lemon Juice,Ginger Garlic paste and coat the fish with the marination for at least 15-20 minutes covered.
  4. Second Marination:
  5. Whisk the hung yogurt and mix with roasted gram flour,Red chili Powder,lemon juice, Ginger-garlic Paste, Oil (Optional),Garam masala powder,Carom seeds and give it a nice mix.
  6. Take the Marinated fish and coat it well with this marination. Set it aside for more 15 minutes. Set the fish on top a metal cool rack lined with a baking tray so the extra oil can drain.
  7. Bake the fish in conventional oven at 200 degree centigrade or 375 degree Fahrenheit for 20 minutes and broil for 5 minutes (Keep an eye so the fish should not burn).
  8. Now gently take out the fish and slip it onto the serving platter.Brush the fish with melted butter and Chat Masala. Sprinkle Chopped cilantro on top and serve it hot with tomato,cucumbers,Onion, Lemon.
