Ingredients to make Lotus Stem(dry)

  • 5 to 6 lotus stem ( peeled and sliced into 1/2 inch pieces )
  • 4 onions ( finely chopped )
  • 2 tomatoes ( finely chopped )
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 4 tbsp curd
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilly powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup milk ( for boiling lotus stem )

How to make Lotus Stem(dry)

  1. Take a pressure cooker put in sliced lotus stem with 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of milk, let cook for 2 whistles.
  2. With this procedure lotus stem will become clean from inside.
  3. Take a pressure cooker, add 4 tbsp oil then add the onion.
  4. After onions are golden brown, add ginger garlic paste.
  5. After stirring for about 2 min, add in some chopped tomatoes.
  6. When tomatoes are tender put in all dry spices.
  7. When all the spices are finely cooked add curd slowly on low gas.
  8. Then add lotus stem and saute the mixture for about 8 to 10 mins to enhance the taste.
  9. Then add 2 cups of water and cook for 2 to 3 whistle and after keeping it on low gas for 5 minutes.
  10. Garnish it with fresh coriander.
