ABOUT Matar Paneer RECIPE

Matar paneer is a very common Indian vegetarian dish. Delicious and easy to prepare with winter fresh green peas and paneer.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Paneer 300g
  2. Matar or fresh green peas 300g ( seeds)
  3. Tomato puree 3/4 cup
  4. Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  5. Onion finely chopped 1/2 cup
  6. Ginger paste 2 teaspoon
  7. Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  9. Green cilli paste 1 teaspoon
  10. Sugar 1 teaspoon
  11. Salt as required
  12. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  13. Cilli powder 1/2 teaspoon ( optional)
  14. Garam mashala powder 1 teaspoon
  15. Cooking oil 2 tablespoon
  16. Ghee 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Heat oil and fry paneer cubes . Remove from oil and keep aside.
  2. Add cumin seeds and fry.
  3. Add chopped onions and fry until golden brown in colour.
  4. Add ginger and green chilli paste.
  5. Add sugar, turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin and coriander powder. Stir and keep frying.
  6. Add matar and tomato puree and mix.
  7. Add 1 cup of water and cover . Let it cook until the peas cooked.
  8. Then remove cover and add paneer , mix well cover again.
  9. Let cook for another 7-8 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle garam mashala powder and ghee. Cover again
  11. Remove from heat.
  12. Serve
