ABOUT Mutton Pepper Roast Dry RECIPE

Tasty, flavorful and spicy mutton pepper roast dry. It is a great side dish cooked and roasted with pepper and spices.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Mutton 300 gms
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  4. Coconut oil 4 tsp
  5. Onion 1 large sliced thinly
  6. Green chilly 3 slit
  7. Curry leaves a handful
  8. Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  9. Tomato 1 large chopped finely
  10. Garam masala powder 2 tsp
  11. Meat masala powder 1 tsp
  12. Coriander leaves a handful chopped
  13. Water 1 cup
  14. Coconut 8-10 slices 3-4 cm long
  15. For roasting and grinding
  16. Peppercorns - 2 tsp
  17. Fennel Seeds 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the coconut slices till golden and keep aside.
  2. Take the Pressure cooker, add the mutton, salt, water and pressure cook for 10 mins and turn off the heat. Let the steam go all by itself.
  3. Ina pan dry roast the fennel and pepper for 2 mins.
  4. First take the fennel and blend it to fine powder and then add the pepper and coarsely ground it. Set aside.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and add in onions, curry leaves, green chillies and saute till onion turns soft.
  6. Add in ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
  7. Add the tomatoes and cook that till mushy.
  8. Add the cooked mutton along with its water if any and cook this on medium heat for 5 mins.
  9. Add the garam masala powder and meat masala powder and continue to roast for another 5 mins. Continously stir in between the roasting.
  10. Add in the grounded spice powder, mix well and roast for another 5 mins on medium heat and let the water evaporates completely.
  11. Add the coriander leaves, roasted coconut, give a quick stir and take off the heat.
