ABOUT Kaju Makhana Gravy RECIPE

A very tasty recipe for Navratras. The thick gravy with cream and cashews is just awesome when relished.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Makhana /lotus seeds - 1 cup
  2. Cashew nuts - 50 gm
  3. Ginger paste - 2 tbsp
  4. Ginger julienned- 1 tsp
  5. Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Beaten curd - 1/2 cup
  7. Vrat Special Garam Masala- 2 tbsp
  8. Cream - 100 ml
  9. Sendha namak - little less than 1 tsp or according to taste
  10. Some fried cashews for garnishing.

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add ginger paste and saute add 2 tbsp water and saute.
  2. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add cashew nuts paste and saute.
  4. Cook for 5 minutes. Add beaten curd and saute.
  5. Add a cup of water and saute.
  6. Cook for 6-7 minutes.
  7. In the meanwhile Deep fry makhanas and soak them in a cup of water
  8. Add them in the gravy and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Finish it with cream ,ginger julienne and fried cashews.
  10. The ultimate yummy gravy is ready to enjoy.
