A very easy to make and delicious chaat recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup besan or gram flour
  2. Water as required to make the batter
  3. Oil for deep frying the pakodis
  4. 2 cups of curd
  5. Salt to taste
  6. pinch of black salt
  7. 2 tsp sugar
  8. 1 tsp jeera powder
  9. 1 tsp red chilly powder
  10. 1 tbsp Tamarind Chutney
  11. 1 tbsp green chutney


  1. In a mixing bowl put besan.
  2. Now by adding water little by little, make a smooth but thick batter.
  3. Mix with your hands properly for 5-7 minutes until it becomes light in weight and in colour.
  4. Heat oil for deep frying, first on high then make it medium.
  5. Now with the help of your fingers drop small pakodis in hot oil.
  6. Fry them by turning them continuously, until they become light brown.
  7. When done take them out on an absorbent paper.
  8. In this way make all the pakodis.
  9. Soak half the pakodis or as required directly in a big bowl of water.
  10. Leave the rest as it is, use them when required.
  11. Blend curd with salt, sugar and black salt into a smooth consistency.
  12. Now squeeze out the extra water from the soaked pakodis and put them in the curd mixture, mix well but very gently.
  13. Now in a serving plate place the curd pakodis, along with some curd.
  14. Garnish with red chilly powder, jeera powder, green chutney and tamarind chutney.
