Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bread slices - 6
  2. Potatoes - 2 medium
  3. Tomato - 1 medium
  4. Onions finely chopped - 2
  5. For chana gravy:
  6. Kabuli chana - 1 cup
  7. Chana masala 1 tbsp
  8. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  9. Red chilli powder - as per your taste
  10. Garam masala - 1 tsp
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Coriander leaves for garnishing
  13. Namkeen or sev for garnishing
  14. Tamarind chutney - 4 tbsp


  1. Soak kabuli chana overnight. Pressure cook along with cubed potato pieces for 10 minutes or till cooked. Keep aside.
  2. Dry roast bread slices and cut into cubes. Keep aside.
  3. Method for chana gravy:
  4. Take a Kadai. Add oil. Saute onion. Then add chopped tomatoes. Now add spice powders (chana masala, turmeric powder, garam masala and red chilli powder).
  5. Now add boiled chana and potato. Add salt. Bring to a boil.
  6. Once the gravy blends well, switch off the flame.
  7. Serving:
  8. Take a serving plate. Add chana masala. Top it with roasted bread pieces, finely chopped onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves. Add tamarind chutney on top of it. Garnish with sev and serve.
