Ingredients to make Butter mushroom masala

  • 1 packet button mushrooms
  • 2 big onions
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 10 to 15 blanched cashew nuts
  • 2 tbs coconut
  • 2 tbs of butter
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 inch piece of ginger
  • 7 to 8 garlic cloves
  • 2 to 4 cloves
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1tsp cumin seeds
  • Pinch of hing
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 to 3 tbs cream
  • 2 tbs curd
  • coriander leaves to garnish
  • salt according to taste

How to make Butter mushroom masala

  1. Properly wash mushrooms and chop them
  2. Chop onions, tomatoes, ginger and garlic..Saute it in pressure cooker with some oil for 2 to 3 minutes
  3. Now this add blanched cashew nuts with cloves.
  4. Saute all these together for 2 to 3 minutes and cook till 3 whistles
  5. Whistle it
  6. After that release the pressure and cool the mixture, and blend it in blender
  7. Now add 2 tbs of butter into frying pan and add bay leaves and cinnamon stick and saute the mushrooms for a while and add the blended mixture into the pan. Boil till it leaves the sides and oil separates.
  8. To this add coconut powder along with curd and simmer it for 10 to 12 minutes.
  9. Serve it with cream, enjoy your delicious gravy with rice, roti, naan or paratha..

My Tip:

The blended mixture is of creamy texture and while adding curd the flame should remain slow and continous stir
