ABOUT Zero Oil Dahi Murgh RECIPE

This recipe is the perfect recipe for any elderly person. As it is a zero oil recipe and here the gravy is yogurt base, so it is very healthy and this one is very tasty also. Here chicken will be cooked in a yummy yogurt(dahi) gravy.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken leg-thigh- 2 pieces
  2. Onion chopped- 1 large
  3. Garlic paste- 1.5 tablespoon
  4. Ginger Paste- 1 tablespoon
  5. Green chilli paste- 1 tablespoon
  6. Beaten Curd- 1 1/2cup
  7. Salt to taste
  8. sugar 1 teaspoon
  9. Turmeric powder- 1 teaspoon
  10. Red chilli powder- 1 teaspoon
  11. Cumin powder- 1 tablespoon
  12. Coriander powder- 1 tablespoon
  13. Garam masala powder- 1 tablespoon
  14. Kasoori methi(Dry fenugreek leaves)- 2 tablespoon
  15. Fresh coriander leaves-3 tablespoon
  16. For Tempering,
  17. Whole cumin seeds-1 teaspoon
  18. Whole bay leaves-2 pieces
  19. Dry red chilli- 1 piece
  20. Green cardamom- 4 pods
  21. Cinnamon sticks- 2 small
  22. For garnishing,
  23. Few coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Take washed chicken and pat dry with kitchen tissue. Keep it aside.
  2. Then take beaten curd in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add all the powder masala and salt.
  4. Add onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli.
  5. Mix everything very well.
  6. Now marinate the chicken well with this mixture.
  7. Keep it in fridge for 4-5 hours.
  8. After that take a pan and add suger in it.
  9. Stir it until it is caramelized.
  10. Add whole masala in it. Saute it until it change the colour.
  11. Finally add the marinated chicken in pan.
  12. Let it cook in low heat. In this chicken recipe we will not add any water. Chicken and curd both will release some water. With this chicken will get cooked.
  13. Stir the chicken every after 10-12 minutes interval so that it doesn't stick to bottom of the pan.
  14. When the chicken become tender and start to come out from bone, add kasoori methi and mix it well.
  15. Then check the salt and add coriander leaves. Switch off the flame and give it 10-15 minutes standing time.
  16. Garnish with coriander before serving.
