Zero Oil Dahi Murgh

Ingredients to make Zero Oil Dahi Murgh

  • chicken leg-thigh- 2 pieces
  • onion chopped- 1 large
  • garlic paste- 1.5 tablespoon
  • ginger Paste- 1 tablespoon
  • Green chilli paste- 1 tablespoon
  • Beaten curd- 1 1/2cup
  • salt to taste
  • sugar 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder- 1 teaspoon
  • red chilli powder- 1 teaspoon
  • cumin powder- 1 tablespoon
  • coriander powder- 1 tablespoon
  • Garam masala powder- 1 tablespoon
  • Kasoori methi(Dry fenugreek leaves)- 2 tablespoon
  • Fresh coriander leaves-3 tablespoon
  • For Tempering,
  • Whole cumin seeds-1 teaspoon
  • Whole bay leaves-2 pieces
  • Dry red chilli- 1 piece
  • Green cardamom- 4 pods
  • cinnamon sticks- 2 small
  • For garnishing,
  • Few coriander leaves

How to make Zero Oil Dahi Murgh

  1. Take washed chicken and pat dry with kitchen tissue. Keep it aside.
  2. Then take beaten curd in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add all the powder masala and salt.
  4. Add onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli.
  5. Mix everything very well.
  6. Now marinate the chicken well with this mixture.
  7. Keep it in fridge for 4-5 hours.
  8. After that take a pan and add suger in it.
  9. Stir it until it is caramelized.
  10. Add whole masala in it. Saute it until it change the colour.
  11. Finally add the marinated chicken in pan.
  12. Let it cook in low heat. In this chicken recipe we will not add any water. Chicken and curd both will release some water. With this chicken will get cooked.
  13. Stir the chicken every after 10-12 minutes interval so that it doesn't stick to bottom of the pan.
  14. When the chicken become tender and start to come out from bone, add kasoori methi and mix it well.
  15. Then check the salt and add coriander leaves. Switch off the flame and give it 10-15 minutes standing time.
  16. Garnish with coriander before serving.
