Ingredients to make Cottage cheese cake or Chhena poda

  • cottage cheese or chhena 2 cup,crumbled
  • sugar 1 cup
  • cinnamon powder a pinch
  • nutmeg powder 1/2 tsp
  • cardamom powder 1 tbsp
  • pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  • lemon zest 1 tsp
  • A pinch of salt
  • Rose water 1 tbsp
  • honey 2 tbsp
  • Milk 2 tbsp
  • ghee for grease
  • Chopped almonds,pistachio,cherry,saffrons and silver leaves for decorate.

How to make Cottage cheese cake or Chhena poda

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 digree
  2. Bring a bowl,add cottage cheese,sugar,cardamom powder,cinnamon powder,nutmeg powder,pepper powder,lemon zest and salt.Mix well.
  3. Add honey,rose water and milk.
  4. Blend the cottage cheese mixture till it becomes smooth.
  5. Grease a baking mould with ghee.
  6. Pour the mixture into it and spread evenly with a spatula.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 digree for 40 to 50 minutes.
  8. Take out the mould when hot and invert it on a plate to take out.
  9. Garnish with silver leaves,chopped almonds,pistachio,cherry and saffrons.
  10. Serve hot or cold.

My Tip:

Add 1 tsp of baking powder if you need.
