ABOUT Soft Poha Glass Idli RECIPE

Glass idli is a tradition way of cooking in villages especially in Mangalore region. Here me tried that in flat poha and got success. It's very tasty and easy recipe for party functions.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup beaten rice / flat poha
  2. 1 1/2 cup idli rava / samolina
  3. 2 cup buttermilk
  4. 1/8 tsp of baking soda
  5. 1/2 tsp eno fruit salt (optional)
  6. 1/2 tsp salt
  7. Water as required
  8. Oil to grease glasses

Instructions

  1. SOAK POHA IN BUTTERMILK
  2. MIX WELL, CLOSE THE LID AND LET IT 15 MINUTES TO TURN SOFT
  3. TAKE IDLY RAVA
  4. ADD BUTTERMILK, MIX WELL ALLOW TO REST FOR 15 MINUTES
  5. MIX TOGETHER
  6. ADD WATER TO GET IDLI BATTER CONSISTENCY
  7. ADD SALT AND BAKING SODA
  8. ADD ENO IF THE BUTTERMILK IS NOT SOUR AND MIX WELL ALLOW IT 3 MINUTES TO MIX WELL.
  9. TAKE GLASSES AND APPLY FEW DROPS OF OIL
  10. POUR 3/4 PART OF BATTER
  11. PLACE IN THE IDLI POT OF BOILING WATER, STEAM COOK IN HIGH FLAME FOR 10 MIN AND 5 MIN IN LOW FLAME
  12. CHECK THE COOKNESS IF IT'S NOT STICKY SWITCH OFF, ALLOW TO COOL, OTHERWISE COOK STILL 5 MORE MINUTES
