ABOUT Rice poori. RECIPE

This is a malabar breakfast dish. This spongy & tasty poori goes well with veg & non veg curries.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. raw rice 1cup
  2. cooked rice 1/2 cup
  3. salt to taste.
  4. baking powder 2 pinch.
  5. water to make a thick batter.
  6. oil to deep fry

Instructions

  1. Soak rice for a few hours.
  2. take a mixi & put soaked rice along with all other ingredients. add some water & grind it to a fine thick batter.
  3. add baking powder. keep aside for an hour.
  4. heat a deep kadai. pour enough oil to deep fry.
  5. when it s hot, pour a laddle full of batter straight to the hot oil. cook both sides, like we cook poori.
  6. don't brown it. take it out when it it pops up.
  7. serve hot with any curry.
