This is a version of poha made by me, where I have used puffed rice, a very light and delicious breakfast recipe for all times.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 4 cups murmura [puffed rice]
  2. 2 chopped onion
  3. 1 capsicum
  4. 1 green chilly
  5. Salt
  6. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  7. 2 green chillies
  8. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  9. 4 tsp oil
  10. Coriander leaves [handful]
  11. lemon juice of 1 lemon


  1. wash the murmura, and then drain the excess water using a colander or sieve.
  2. Heat oil in a pan
  3. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle.
  4. Add onions and saute for few seconds, then add rest of the vegetables.
  5. Saute for few minutes.
  6. Add salt and all the masalas.
  7. Now add the washed murmura and give it a good mix.
  8. Pour the lemon juice and sprinkle chopped coriander leaves. Give it a mix and serve hot.
