ABOUT veg biryani RECIPE

A delicious vegetables biryani for dinner parties, to be served with some raita on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Mixed vegetables - 1 cup [beans carrots,capsicum,peas]
  2. veg biryani masala 1 tbsp
  3. 1tsp coriander powder
  4. red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  5. salt
  6. Refined oil/Ghee
  7. Sliced onion - 2

Instructions

  1. Chop all the vegetables and keep aside.
  2. Heat a pan with some oil. Add the sliced onion and saute until golden brown.
  3. Add the vegetables, and the powdered masalas along with the salt. Cook until the veggies are almost done.
  4. While the vegetables are being cooked, wash and boil the rice with lots of water, little salt and some oil. Drain the cooked rice until the rice is 90% done.
  5. Now layer the rice on top of the vegetables, sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves [optional], some saffron soaked in milk, some ghee. Close the lid, lower the flame and cook the biryani for 30 minutes. Cook, rest , mix and serve with some raita on the side.
