Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1/2 cup- oatmeal
  2. 1/2 cup- whole wheat flour
  3. 1/4 cup- chana sattu or besan
  4. 1 onion - chopped
  5. 1/2-3/4 cup- curd (to knead the dough)
  6. 1/4 tsp Mineral salt (as per taste)
  7. 1/2 tsp each- cumin seeds, carom seeds
  8. 1 bunch of coriander leaves
  9. 1/2 tsp- coriander powder
  10. Oil for smearing on parantha
  11. 1 tsp- nigella seeds/kalonji (optional)


  1. Take a pan.
  2. Add curd and put all the masala into it.
  3. Add chopped coriander leaves.
  4. Add all flours.
  5. Mix everything and keep it covered for 30 minutes. No need to knead the dough at this moment.
  6. After half an hour, the ingredients should have come together beautifully. All you need is knead the dough little. Do not push too hard.
  7. Make small balls and roll out into paranthas.
  8. Take a tawa and keep it on a high flame. Place the paranthas on the tawa.
  9. Smear it on both sides and sprinkle some nigella seeds or kalonji on top. Enjoy healthy parantha with a curry of your choice or even mango pickle.
