ABOUT Peanut-Jaggery Barfi RECIPE

Peanuts are full of protein and fiber. Peanuts improve satiety and help maintain weight loss. Coconut helps to restore oxidative tissue damage and contains a source of healthy fats, proteins, and various vitamins and minerals.The usage of jaggery makes this Barfi sugarfree and beneficial for all age groups.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 200 gm raw peanuts
  2. 150 gm fresh/desiccated coconut
  3. 150 gm jaggery powdered
  4. 100 gm ghee
  5. 100 gm mixed nuts powdered
  6. 4-5 almonds sliced for garnishing
  7. 4-5 pistachios sliced for garnishing


  1. Dry roast the peanuts and coconut on medium-Low heat for 5-7 minutes and take off heat
  2. Grind peanuts,coconut into a fine powder
  3. Melt ghee in a non stick pan over Low heat
  4. Add the ground peanuts-coconut mix and sauté for 5-7 minutes on medium heat
  5. Once the ghee seems to have been well blended with the mix, add the jaggery powder, mixed nuts and mix well
  6. Cook on Low heat until the mix starts to leave the sides of the pan and the jaggery is well combined with the rest of the ingredients
  7. Take off heat
  8. Pour in the mix on a greased flat surface and garnish with sliced almonds and pistachios
  9. Make cut marks while the mix is still warm so that it would be easy to separate the barfi pieces after its set
  10. Let cool and separate the pieces and store airtight
