About Moong Dal Chilla Recipe

This pancake is easily available in the streets of north india . Moreover it is a healthy alternative to dosa.

Moong Dal Chilla

Ingredients to make Moong Dal Chilla

  • 1 katori dhuli moong Dal(split and husked green gram)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp chillipowder
  • 1 finely chopped green chilly
  • 1 tbsp Finely chopped corriander
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • For stuffing:
  • 1 tbsp pomegranate kernels
  • 1 tbsp pea size cottage cheese cubes sauteed in salt and chilli powder and finely chopped green coriander

How to make Moong Dal Chilla

  1. 1.Soak dal in water for two hours.
  2. 2.Drain water and blend well to a fine paste.
  3. 3.To this add salt, chilli powder, chopped green chillies, 1/2 chopped corriander and little water to make a batter of dropping consistency.
  4. 4.Now heat the griddle and do just little brushing of oil. If the griddle is dry they woul stick and if the griddle is oily they won't take the shape.
  5. 5.Now spread the batter and cook on both sides pouring little oil on the sides on medium high flame.
  6. 6.Similarly prepare all pancakes.
  7. 7. Your chilla is ready. Stuff it with the prepared cottage cheese cubes and pomegranate kernels .

My Tip:

Add 1/2 cup powdered oats to the batter to make it more healthy. The taste would remain same.

pls tell me dhulli moon is yellow daal . what is split and husked green gram .do we have to take two types of daal
